Keep moving forward no matter what happens.

 Running a business constantly presents various challenges. I thought I understood this and was always prepared to overcome them, but the sudden passing of a trusted executive, a staff member capable of leading a business, was truly painful.

We were at a peak moment, excited about the management he would implement and the company we would build together. The sudden farewell at such a moment was the hardest trial I could imagine. Yet, even that can be overcome. It's because I have companions and a team who cry, laugh, and move forward with me.

Even when a person’s life ends, their spirit lives on as long as there are people to carry on their legacy. We will continue to move forward, carrying the spirit of our departed colleague. Business management comes with many trials, but equally or more, it brings possibilities and opportunities for the future. There is no time to stop and look down; we must move forward step by step.

Facing Fear and Seeking Growth

 Some of you may already know this, but I make it a habit to read 10 to 15 books every month. It’s not so much a hobby—rather, I feel uneasy if I’m not constantly exposing myself to new ideas, disciplining my mind, and learning with hunger and intention.  As the season for warm, hearty meals approaches, mushrooms— kinoko in Japanese—frequently appear in dishes like hot pots. I personally love maitake mushrooms, although “mushroom” is how we refer to them in English. Interestingly, we intentionally call our management style Kinoko Management in English as well, keeping the unique essence of this concept. Mushrooms are not vegetables but fungi.
